Form is the diagram of force

                                 Dark incarnate hearts
pump hard as rooks heave at dusk,
          wing-beats glistening.

Their wings grab at the sky
like fingers. Fingers grab
at oranges. Are fingers
the reason why orange
is the color of oranges?
Did fingers cover the globe
and make oranges evolve to be
orange? Fingers do find orange
attractive. And blood oranges
have redder flesh; do fingers
like that? Dead flesh is red
before it browns, darkening
like hearts wrapped in bodies
wrapped in blankets in the night,
far from the cold and far from the light.

                                                              Blue
                                       is a yellow shape:
it is sunlight wrapped around a globe.

In butterflies, it is a dark brown shape.
My fingers tap out meaningful shapes,
but where is the bottom of this poem?
